Taiwan Pork Ragu- Rou Zao Fan

As a half Taiwanese I have to say, Taiwan has one of the most amazing food and is a beautiful little island. For any of you who have the chance, go visit the amazing country.

This recipe is a delicious minced pork sauce the makes you want seconds, thirds and even fourths. Easy and great to make ahead for a casual dinner party where your guests will be wanting more -and of course the recipe. Simple and delicious!

4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 4-5 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500g minced pork
  • 4-6 hard boiled eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 8 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Finley chop the shallots and garlic and lightly brown in a large pot.
  2. Add the minced pork and fry until well done.
  3. Pour in the soy sauce and add sugar and salt.
  4. Peel the eggs and add it in the sauce. Cook for 30- 20min and serve with steamed rice.
